Faculty recharging strategies:
Department of Botany was started since last Five years. At this time emphasis are gives to the study of morphology, anatomy, embryology and economic botany. But now a lot of researches are going on in the field of plant science and new branches of life science like plant Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Microbiology environmental Biology and plant Biotechnology. To provide deep knowledge in these fields drastic changes in the syllabus. To overcome these challenges faculty members of this department planned to recharge themselves and students in the following manner: -
i. Completion of Orientation/ Refresher courses
ii. Attending the / Faculty Development Program/ Seminar/Conferences & Workshop
iii. Organizing the Invited Guest lectures
iv. Presentation of Research papers
v. Organizing the academic/Excursion tours
vi. Organizing the Botanical Exhibition

ü Students are encouraged to propagate plants of ethno-botanical importance in Botanical Garden of the College.
ü Students are involved in writing at least one topic for the “Botanical Essays” under supervision of faculty of this department.
ü Students of the department actively participate in social campaigning programs. Like, play for social awareness against alcoholism and corruption, awareness regarding the conservation of water and health related problems.

Strengths:
ü Department has well equipped laboratory.
ü Department has State PSC Commissioned teacher.
ü Department has sufficient practical work material.
ü Department has Botanical Garden.
Weaknesses:
· There is less number of posts for teaching and non-teaching staff.
· Department does not have Lab Technician and Attendant for the maintenance of lab.
· There is lack of recurring grants for the maintenance of labs and garden.
· Department does not have PG program and PG laboratory.
· Presently department does not have MoU with other department and centers.
